Children in Malawi where the premium on fair trade sugar brought by organisations like Traidcraft is paying for community benefits, such as fresh water, schooling and improved healthcare. TRAIDCRAFT is a Christian organisation dedicated to fighting poverty through trade. For over forty years, Traidcraft has helped producers from poor or disadvantaged communities to use their skills to build sustainable businesses. By paying fair prices for products, we can help producers to improve the conditions in which they live and work, offering hope for a better future.
As Christians we believe that God has a particular concern for those who are disadvantaged; He has made it our responsibility to ensure that all people are treated equally. You can be part of this by supporting the Traidcraft stall on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
The stall sells a variety of fairly traded food including cereals, biscuits, sweets, honey, tea and coffee and a limited range of stationary. You are also warmly encouraged to browse through the current catalogues to order specialist fairly traded goods such as items of clothing, jewellery, cards, games, items for the home and soft furnishings.
